Best of the Kinks was curated by Kinks founder Ray Davies and this potent primer is a great first look into the group's goldmine of classic recordings. Featuring a sampling of hits, deep cuts and non-LP singles, it is the perfect way to introduce new fans to the infectious sounds of England's quintessential combo/5(75).

Nov 10,  · Helping to bridge the gap between genres are French-Spanish band Impureza, who marry both traditions to create a different, distinctive and often diabolically good sound. Much more than a mere gimmick, the flamenco flourishes are every bit a part of the music’s DNA as the brutal breakdowns and guttural growls throughout their second album.

May 19,  · 5. Sex. One of the more frivolous songs on the album, lyrically speaking, Sex begins with an eerie synth evocative of a bad '80s horror movie. It's somewhat fitting, given the genre's obsession with sex and death, and provides a brilliant intro to the Rob Zombie-esque grooves that follow.. Whether or not they took their cues from the Z-man remains to be seen, but the southern rock riffage is.

Jul 27,  · Various sounds of nature carry a certain calming feeling throughout. Themed to the notion of being one with the Earth, the sounds of the project provide a very euphoric and uplifting feeling. Composed mostly by Em herself, Pathway to Aetheria is a shining showcase of the incredible range of her voice, as well as her impressive lyrical abilities.

Aug 13,  · Released this May, Death Valley is singer-songwriter David Haerle’s second album following his debut Garden of Edendale. Death Valley’s marriage of guitar-driven rock to a shimmering California sound calls out to the best of classic American and British rock. Think Laurel Canyon meets Peter Frampton.

The songs on this CD will get you singing, whistling, humming, and marching! As a 35 year old fan of orchestral pop music (the likes of Percy Faith and company), I wasn't around for the heyday of this eledarednilolifzatarewinmehl.coly that is OK, since this CD sounds better than any original release on LP or 45 would have sounded back then!5/5(11).
